The comment is in regards to my recent carryout experience at the Clinton Township (Garfield/Canal) location. I just wanted to say thanks for the great pizza! I take that back. It's not just great, it's Dan Good Pizza! I had The Gourmet Deep Dish. Your team did an awesome job! It was my first experience with Dan Good Pizza and it definitely will NOT be my last! The pizza was cooked to perfection and the cheesy breadsticks were very tasty as well. You guys should be proud of your work, you made a believer out of me!

First…Your pizza is outstanding!!!! I just moved to Shelby Township and I have been trying the local Pizza places to find a pizza that rivals Louie’s Pizza in Hazel Park. I tried the brothers, Dolly's, Happy’s, 2 men from Italy and of course the usual franchise chain pizza…. Garbage! (All of them)
I tried the Chicago style from your 25 and Mound store and was blown away! How in gods name you make such an awesome pizza and sell it for the price you do is beyond me. 3 times in 2 weeks… I am addicted. ALWAYS STAY IN BUSINESS….YOU HAVE NO CHOICE!

Thank you, Chef Dan, for producing a delicious, reasonably-priced pizza that is now near us at 21 and Van Dyke. We tried it for the first time yesterday and were impressed with the website, the order-taker, the delivery and, most of all, the pizza. I especially liked the fresh mushrooms rather than the canned that most other pizza places use. Keep up the great job and you can rely on our continued patronage and recommendation to family and friends.

My name is Dan and I'm admittedly a few pounds heavier because of your pizza! My wife Nicole and I live in New Baltimore and have been coming to the New Baltimore location since you opened. We love it! Since then we have turned our entire families into Dan Good Pizza addicts. We order for birthdays, anniversaries and pretty much any reason we can come up with. Nicole even brought a pizza over to our neighbors so they could try it!

Recently, I found your location on Van Dyke near my office. I was telling my co-workers how exciting this was so I bought them a large deep dish this past Monday and they've been talking about it all week. Some of them are even ordering this weekend!

Every one who try's your products is floored. And it got me thinking that this is a product I can really stand behind. Basically, I was wondering if you are thinking about opening stores as a franchise. My wife and I have been wanting to open a small business for a long time and we think this is a perfect opportunity! We have some experience as to what it takes to make a small business work and we see the potential of the name you are creating and we'd like to join the team!

I had to comment on how unbelievable your pizza was. I just moved out to Shelby Township and I wanted to try something different from the normal pizza chains I have had in the past. My friends and I consider ourselves pizza connoisseurs. We test out different pizzas trying to find the best pizza and ingredients around town. I ordered a deep dish with bacon, black olives, and red onions. First, I normally don't get deep dish pizzas because it always just seems like too much dough and the black olives were for my wife, I usually pick them off. However, I sat down and took one bit and I ate the entire piece and then another, and then another........you get the picture. My only complaint is that it was so filling I was full after 3 slices so I had to wait until the next day to finish it for lunch AND dinner again. The sauce was spectacular with the perfect amount of cheese and dough. OH MY! I look forward to many more from Dan Good Pizza! Great job!
 


You guys have the best pizza I have ever had and I consider myself a pizza guru. I work at PTM Corporation in Fair Haven, Michigan and have had your pizza 5 times. Every time it was great. I was thinking it would be worth the drive from St. Clair Shores to New Baltimore to get pizza for the family on a weekend. I was on the Internet tonight and on a whim decided to see if I could find you guys and I did. To my surprise you guys have a place in St. Clair Shores. I can’t wait to treat my family to pizza this weekend from Dan Good Pizza. Awesome. You guys rock. I will be spreading the word to all my neighbors, family, and friends.

My wife & I visited your Sterling Heights location for the first time tonight. We would like to say Thank You ....Finally !!!! there is someplace that makes fabulous Pizza. We are very particular about our Pie. We must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The wife loves your marinated tomatoes in the salad, She doesn't really care for tomatoes. She can't wait to try your roasted chicken, sounds a lot like her recipe. we will definitely be back again, along with telling Family & Friends. Keep up the Dan Good Cooking!!!!!!!

BEST WE'VE EVER HAD!

That's what Detroit Free Press Restaurant Critic Sylvia Rector wrote when describing the deep dish Chicago-style pizzas of Metro Detroit's newest pizza eatery "Dan Good Pizza" of New Baltimore. The article listed the top twenty-five pizzas in Metro Detroit voted by Michigan residents. "Dan Good Pizza" was listed in the top ten alphabetically. And what is the significance of this you might ask? Two things; First, "Dan Good Pizza" has only been around since February of this year. And in their short eight month existence have managed to beat out timeless Detroit pizza makers such as Loui's, Jet's and even Pizzapapalis. Second, with locations in New Baltimore, Sterling Heights and Shelby Township owner Dan Stackpoole is now opening his fourth location right here in St. Clair Shores on Greater Mack at Nine Mile.

If his name sounds familiar, it should. Stackpoole has a long history here in the Shores. His grandparents Bill and Faye have resided here for over sixty years with nine children and seventy-three grandchildren, many of them still living here in the Shores.

According to owner Dan Stackpoole he felt compelled to get back to the neighborhood where he grew up. "Some of my best childhood memories are of my dad taking me to the dollar show at the old Shores Theatre", Stackpoole says, "It's pretty neat having a business just a couple doors down from a great memory like that".

Stackpoole has spent the better half of his life cooking. Formerly the chef and creator of "The Vernier" restaurant in Fair Haven for the past six years, he has won numerous awards for his creative fine dining cuisine. But when asked, why pizza? His response, "Family", "I left the fine dining world to open my pizzerias for my family". "The life of a chef may seem glamorous to some, but it got to the point where I didn't know who my children were anymore". "The years of working late nights, weekends and holidays finally got the best of me".

Stackpoole or "Chef Dan" as most people know him can be found spending most of his time with his wife Jamie and two children Miles and Coral making some of Detroits best pizzas right here in St. Clair Shores. It's obvious from the moment you walk into his store that this is no ordinary pizza place. The level of cleanliness is second to none. And the aroma of fresh herbs, roasted garlic and handmade pizzas fill the air. Of course you can't expect a chef of this caliber to give up fine dining all together. And that's why chef Dan also offers up a variety of affordable entrees for only ten dollars each. From his signature pesto and parmesan encrusted salmon to his homemade Italian style meatloaf. All of his dinner entrees are served with fresh roasted vegetables and redskin potatoes kissed with rosemary and thyme. And don't forget to try his wife's homemade tiramisu and cookies.

So if you are hungry and looking for something out of the ordinary, then give "Dan Good Pizza" a try. You won't be disappointed.

When you first opened I thought, OK..another pizza place, then I tried it after a few weeks, now I realize you are the ONLY pizza place.

I received my first experience via delivery, very professional from the phone to the door, then my second experience was with a pick up, VERY impressed.

Your team was extremely professional without being fake or seeming overly programmed.

Lastly, Absolutely the best pizza I have had.....Bar None.

We just had our first Dan Good Pizza on the recommendation of a friend. Wow what a great pizza! We also had the Traverse City Salad and it was equally as delicious. We will definitely be back!
